We caught a plastic bag on one prop, and the rubber bushing separated from the aluminum housing, now it just spins without delivering power. We MacGyvered a temporary fix with set screws, but I'm considering a replacement. The original prop wasn't matched to the boat, 11 3/4 x 7R on twin Yamaha 9.9s. I am wondering if switching to a lower pitch prop might boost our top speed from 6.5 knots, I am looking at two options and leaning toward the cheaper one

The stock prop is most likely close, but grab a pair of cheap tach/hr meters to see if youre hitting rated RPM at WOT. If you are and not bouncing off the rev limiter, your props should be fine. If not, go with lower pitch. For the spun hub, some can be repaired, but most of the time it means replacing the prop.
