Need insight , helping my brother who wants to get a cat, his priorities are stability, space cos he's gonna have family coming aboard more often, and something comfortable for longer cruising, would love to hear recos, are there certain models you'd steer a first time cat buyer toward or away from?

I have a Lagoon 380 and it ticks all the boxes your brother needs. It's not as spacious as the 42+, but it's a pretty solid option for daily or even weekend cruises. TO be fair, not sure hot it fairs on longer ones, haven't taken it out yet

I think catamarans from Lagoon, Fountaine Pajot and Leopard would match your brother's requirements since they have models that prioritize liveability! Avoid older, performance-focused catamarans like some Outremer or Catana models are designed for speed!
