A rare one

I recently picked up one of only three Ocean Twins ever made, a unique catamaran by Pat Patterson, and i'm already loving it. We've been docked in Portugal since June doing minor fixes and upgrades while waiting on bigger stuff like rigging and batteries. The layout's great with 4 cabins, sea berths under the cockpit and a big galley in the port hull. Its got some quirks, no trampolines, mid-engine setup and maybe average sailing... but overall, it's a solid boat!

I helped refit a Patterson-designed Gypsy years ago. The mid-engine setup took some getting used to, but it made maintenance surprisingly easy. Sounds like your Ocean Twin's shaping up nicely. Hope the rigging and battery upgrades go smoothly!

Wow, that's incredible! Owning one of only three Ocean Twins sounds amazing. Sounds like you're really enjoying her, quirks and all, and those cabins, galley, and upgrades make her a seriously great ride!

Awesome you worked on a Gypsy, i've read a bit about them but never seen one in person. Did you find the mid-engine setup affected the balance much under sail, or was it barely noticeable once you got used to it?
